Fish with Rice

Fish with Rice is a really fast, easy, and yummy dinner to make. It ususally takes me about 20 min total from time I think about making it till time I'm eating it.

What you'll need:
As much Fish as you want (I usually use salmon or tilapia)
1 box of flavored Rice (whatever flavor you want, i use chicken flavored)

What your options are:
garlic salt (you can also use garlic powder)
lemon pepper
sometimes for the salmon i'll use brown sugar, sounds weird, but it's tasty
basil
italian seasoning
butter
lemon juice
whatever else you want to season with

This is also good with steamed broccoli...

Directions:
You'll want to start by defrosting your fish if you're using frozen fish. Then you'll want to set the oven to broil or the highest temperature setting and letting it preheat. While you're waiting for the oven to preheat go ahead and start your rice.

I usually just get one of those flavored rice boxes you find at the grocery store. I like chicken flavored rice cuz that's what my mom always made with fish. Just follow the directions on the box for how to make it.

While you're waiting on the rice you can start getting your pan and the fish ready. I usually use a broiler pan, but a cookie sheet, or a metal pie tin have also worked. Cover your pan in aluminum foil. This is a really easy step that makes for a really easy clean up. Put your fish on the pan and get out your seasonings. Season each side of your fish with the garlic salt, and the lemon pepper (or whatever seasonings you're using.)

Once the oven is preheated you can stick your fish in there on the top shelf for about 3 min. Then take it out and flip it over. Stick it back in for about another 3 min. At this point you'll want to check that your fish is cooked all the way though. If not put it in for a bit longer until it's done.

You can also serve this with some lemon butter over it. To make lemon butter just melt some butter with lemon juice in your microwave. You can decide how much butter to lemon ration you want.

Serve fish and rice together putting lemon butter on as you wish and ENJOY.

Changes

So I haven't really posted anything new on here for a whole year. It was a good idea and I had a few good posts while it lasted, but I've decided to change the intent to something that might be a little easier to keep up with and a little more useful to myself and others. I've decided to change it to a cooking blog. I plan to post what I cook and the recipes for how I make it. I do this in hopes that it will help me remember what I can make and how I made it. Maybe it'll help me come up with dinner on those ideas when I just have no idea what to make. AND, hopefully it will help you with the same. ENJOY! :)
