Note to self: Even in Utah it is still to hot to go barefoot running at 5:00 in the summer, especially if you plan to be walking for at least part of it!
Downfalls of the run: TO HOT! Perfect in the shady parts, and obviously not hot enough to turn home before I got half way out, but still too hot.
Good points: During a good few parts I was getting technique down enough so that mostly things didn't hurt and I was SILENT like a NINJA!
Reason I couldn't continue my awesome technique: I want to go faster, plus its nice to go faster when your feet are hot from the ground.
Interesting point of the run: The last block of my run (in the shade so the nice part) I was stopped at an intersection waiting for traffic kind of hopping from one foot to the next cuz it was hot when some guy in a car stopped to ask if I need a ride somewhere. Surely he thought I was some poor soul with not a thing to cover my soles. (hahaha, not really that fun but soul/soles, ya!) Anyway, I told him "Nah, I'm good" but in hind site what I should have said was yes... he was kinda cute, and I am a single gal ya know!
Distance: 2 mi (1.5 run/1mi walk)
Time: I stopped my stopwatch after I started mostly walking so I don't know.
